The Verona Area School District is seeking applicants for the following position:

Special Needs Nurse

District Wide

.90 FTE to .94 FTE (depending on student schedule and bus route)

This position provides direct 1:1 nursing service to an assigned student with complex medical needs to ensure the student's health, safety, and access to educational programming.

Duties include but are not limited to: Continuous direct care and health monitoring for an assigned student during the school day and during transport. Implement specialized nursing procedures-such as respiratory care, seizure management, gastrostomy feedings, and medication administration-in accordance with physician orders, District procedures, and nursing standards. Develop and manage Individual Health Plans (IHPs) and Emergency Care Plans (ECPs), assist with daily living activities, operate adaptive equipment, and respond swiftly to medical emergencies.

Qualifications

  • Requires Registered Nurse (RN) license with BSN, including annual CPR protocol
  • School nursing, public health or pediatric training/experience required
  • Bilingual (Spanish) skills are prioritized
