The Mahopac Central School District seeks to fill the following anticipated position for the 2026-2027 school year.
Special Education Wilson Reading Teacher - Mahopac Middle School
Special Education Certification Wilson Reading System Level 1 Certification
Demonstrated experience implementing IEPs and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
Strong background in structured literacy and evidence-based reading interventions
Experience working with students performing below grade level in reading and writing
Proven ability to deliver explicit systematic multisensory reading instruction
Experience using diagnostic assessments to inform instruction and monitor student progress
Ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs
Strong classroom management skills in inclusive and/or self-contained settings
Experience collaborating with general education teacher to support inclusion
Strong communication skills with families, staff, and related service providers
Commitment to fostering a supportive student-centered learning environment
