Description:
We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support students in a separate K 2 classroom setting in Wilson, NC. The classroom serves approximately 14 students and is supported by 2 Teacher Assistants (TAs).
- Provide specialized instruction and support to students in a separate classroom setting.
- Work with students who are non-verbal and/or on the autism spectrum.
- Develop and implement individualized instruction aligned with student IEPs.
- Participate in staff meetings and required school activities.
- Attend additional IEP meetings as needed; overtime may be approved for eligible extra meetings.
- Assist students with personal care needs, including bathroom assistance and changing, when required.
- Collaborate with Teacher Assistants and school staff to support student learning and development.
- EC (Exceptional Children) Licensure MUST BE IN HAND.
- Previous experience working with students with special needs is preferred.
- Experience supporting students with autism and/or non-verbal students is a plus.
- Must successfully complete the Wilson County Schools background check and meet all district requirements.
- Daily Schedule: 7:20 AM 3:30 PM
- Total Hours: Approximately 40 hours/week
- Billable Hours: 37 hours/week
- Lunch: Unpaid
- OT: May be approved for additional IEP meetings, as applicable.
