Rate of Pay: Based on applicable step/salary per CEA contract.

Schedule: Teacher contract

Qualifications:

  • Must hold special education teaching certificate
  • Must meet Highly Qualified Teacher status requirements
  • Experience with learning and behavior disabilities.
  • Ability to facilitate, assign and organize paraprofessionals

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) aligned to student needs
  • Facilitate IEP meetings with families in a supportive, collaborative manner
  • Partner closely with general education teachers to support student success across settings
  • Provide a balance of push-in and pull-out services based on individual student goals
  • Monitor and track student progress toward IEP goals, adjusting instruction as needed
  • Support student behavior through positive strategies, de-escalation techniques, and proactive interventions
  • Build strong, positive relationships with students, families, and staff
  • Communicate regularly with families to celebrate growth and problem-solve together
  • Participate in bi-weekly Special Education team meetings focused on collaboration and support
  • Use data to inform instruction and ensure meaningful student growth
  • Create a safe, inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and supported
  • Collaborate with related service providers (e.g., SLP, social worker, OT) to meet the whole child's needs
  • Support additional building needs (e.g., recess supervision) as part of the school team
  • Participate in staff meetings, professional learning, and school initiatives
  • Contribute to a positive, team-oriented school culture focused on student success
