Work Schedule & Paid BreaksMonday-Friday 7:30am-3:30pm10 Month Position (August-May)Paid School Breaks! (Fall, Thanksgiving, Winter, Spring)Additionally, we observe federal holidays which often involve three-day weekendsAccel is a private, nonprofit organization for children and young adults with special needs, ages 5-22. Accel provides innovative, individualized and comprehensive educational, therapeutic, vocational, behavioral, life skills, and transitional services to individuals with a wide range of disabilities including autism, intellectual, physical disabilities and health impairments.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (includes but are not limited to):Develop and implement individualized education plans and instructional programsProvide ongoing and periodic evaluations of students' progress and make recommendations concerning curriculum areas to be emphasized and required accommodationsDevelop and maintain a professional relationship with parents/caregivers and inform them of the student's progressMaintain accurate recordkeeping systemProvide supervision and direction to classroom Paraprofessionals and implement behavior intervention techniques for classroom managementPhysically intervene or provide physical assistance in the classroomServe as a Coordinator that manages IEP scheduling and participates and helps facilitate MET and IEP meetingsWork collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams to implement therapeutic and educational programsMinimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in educationArizona Teaching Certificate with Special Education endorsement in the area being hired to teachMust have or ability to obtain Fingerprint Clearance CardEmployment is contingent upon the successful completion of a required background check
