Birch Agency is seeking dedicated Special Education Teachers to support students in Lancaster, South Carolina. We currently have opportunities available across two school settings, working with students who require specialized instruction and additional classroom support.

Available Opportunities

K-5 Multi-Categorical Self-Contained

• Grade Levels: K-5

• Setting: Multi-Categorical Self-Contained

• Caseload: Approximately 15 students

• Start Date: ASAP

• Face-to-face only

K-5 Special Settings 2 / Moderate

• Grade Levels: K-5

• Setting: Special Settings 2 / Moderate

• Caseload: Approximately 12 students

• Start Date: September 25, 2026

• Face-to-face only

• 3 classroom assistants available to support the classroom

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized instruction based on students' IEPs.

• Provide specialized academic and functional instruction in a self-contained setting.

• Adapt curriculum and instructional materials to meet individual student needs.

• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation.

• Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with families, teachers, and related service providers.

• Implement positive behavioral and classroom management strategies.

• Create a structured, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.

• Collaborate with classroom assistants and other school staff to support student success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field.

• Valid South Carolina Special Education teaching certification or eligibility for certification.

• Experience working with students with moderate to significant support needs is a plus

• Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.

• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary school team.
