Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs.
- Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to integrate special education students into mainstream classrooms.
- Monitor and report on student progress, adjusting strategies as necessary to meet evolving needs.
- Engage with parents and guardians to discuss student progress and address any concerns.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports student engagement and success.
Salary - As per the agreement between the South Plainfield Board of Education and the South Plainfield Teachers' Unit
Other Requirements:
- New Jersey Teaching Certificate
- New Jersey Teacher of Students with Disabilities certification
- Experience working with elementary-aged students with diverse learning needs.
- Strong understanding of IEP processes and implementation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to collaborate with general education teachers and support staff.
- Strong classroom management skills tailored to special education settings.
