    Position Details:

    • Title: Special Education Teacher
    • Location: Burnsville, MN
    • Duration: Aug. 17, 2026 to June 3, 2027
    • Onsite/Virtual: Onsite
    • Position Type: Contract
    • Working Hours: 37.5 hours/week
    • Student Age Group: ECSE/Elementary/Middle school

    Responsibilities:

    • Provide specially designed instruction and support based on student IEPs
    • Implement behavior plans, classroom structures, and routines
    • Support students with academic, behavioral, and emotional needs
    • Develop and adapt instructional strategies based on student needs
    • Monitor student progress and maintain appropriate documentation
    • Collaborate with special education and general education teachers
    • Coordinate and collaborate with paraprofessionals
    • Participate in IEP meetings and other special education processes
    • Maintain a structured, supportive learning environment
    • Demonstrate excellent attendance and reliability

    Qualifications:

    • Candidates must hold a valid Minnesota Special Education teaching license in at least one of the following areas: Autism Spectrum Disorders, Developmental Disabilities, Early Childhood, Emotional Behavioral Disorders, Learning Disabilities, Academic & Behavioral Strategist (ABS)
    • Special education classroom experience
    • Behavioral intervention and behavior-management strategies
    • Experience with behavior plans
    • EBD or cross-categorical settings
    • Center-based special education
    • Resource programs
    • Strong classroom management and instructional skills
    • Experience coordinating paraprofessionals
    • Strong collaboration and problem-solving skills
