    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    • Teach grade level (grades 8-12) curriculum to students in small groups and direct teach skills and strategies that support written expression, math, reading, communication, and executive functioning skills.
    • Adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student. Collaborate with educators and other staff members.
    • Communicate student progress regularly with parents and other team members.
    • Collect data regarding student progress. Actively participate in program, departmental, and school-wide trainings, meetings and activities.
    • Educate students with social/emotional impairments, executive functioning difficulties, and other learning disabilities.
    • Support classroom teachers and paraeducators in the classroom setting.
    • Create and manage student behavior and academics.
    • Consult regularly with support teams.
    • Participate in meetings, write Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), Progress Reports, etc.
    • Evaluate students to determine eligibility for special education programming.
    • Lead a substantially separate program and or partial inclusion program for students with social/emotional impairments, executive functioning difficulties, and other disabilities.
    • Create and manage student behavior plans, using data

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Master's degree preferred
    • MA DESE license in Moderate Disabilities at the high school level
    • Experience working with students with learning disabilities, including dyslexia, dyscalculia, executive functioning difficulties, etc.
    • Knowledge of teaching strategies aligned to MA SEL Standards
    • Strong communication skills with teachers, paraeducators, parents and administrators
    • Proficient written and verbal communication skills
    • Experience with the use of assistive technology to support academics
    • Demonstrate ability to model behavior intervention strategies and give effective feedback to staff, parents, and students
    • Demonstrate ability to develop behavior data collection systems and work with teachers, paraeducators, and administrators to collect, analyze and respond to behavior data
    • At least 1 year of relevant experience preferred
    • Citizenship, residency or work visa required
