Position Summary: The successful candidate will manage a student caseload of preschool- to high school-aged deaf and hard of hearing students districtwide. This position requires the individual to have knowledge of relevant curriculum and the ability to teach in specific content areas as well as to modify instruction for deaf and hearing impaired students. This individual must have knowledge of ASL and English language development in deaf, and the ability to construct a meaningful communication system for students and to communicate with many individuals. The individual must possess knowledge of educational interpreting and the ability to guide and collaborate with educational interpreters.
This position requires the individual to demonstrate an appreciation for parental concerns regarding students, be available to parents and to demonstrate the ability to contribute to dynamic and innovative teams working to effectively enhance the educational program within the school and districtwide. This position must be aware of, and be able to use, multiple forms of assessment.
