Clifton
Public
Schools
is
seeking
a
qualified
and
dedicated
Special
Education
Teacher
to
provide
instruction
within
a
self-contained
Autism/Applied
Behavior
Analysis
(ABA)
program.
The
teacher
will
provide
individualized,
data-driven
instruction
and
behavioral
support
to
students
with
autism
and
other
developmental
disabilities
while
promoting
communication,
independence,
academic
growth,
and
access
to
the
least
restrictive
environment.
Duties
and
Responsibilities
Plan
and
deliver
individualized,
developmentally
appropriate
instruction
aligned
with
students'
IEP
goals,
academic
needs,
and
functional
skill
development.
Implement
evidence-based
Applied
Behavior
Analysis
(ABA)
strategies,
including
reinforcement,
prompting
and
prompt
fading,
task
analysis,
shaping,
error
correction,
and
systematic
skill
acquisition
procedures.
Collect,
maintain,
and
analyze
student
data
to
monitor
skill
acquisition,
maintenance,
generalization,
IEP
progress,
and
behavioral
outcomes
and
use
data
to
guide
instructional
decisions.
Collaborate
closely
with
Board
Certified
Behavior
Analysts
(BCBAs),
behavior
specialists,
case
managers,
related
service
providers,
paraprofessionals,
administrators,
and
families
to
ensure
consistency
across
educational
programming.
Implement
students'
Behavior
Intervention
Plans
(BIPs),
behavior
support
strategies,
reinforcement
systems,
visual
supports,
communication
systems,
and
other
individualized
interventions
with
fidelity.
Provide
instruction
across
academic,
communication,
social,
behavioral,
adaptive,
and
functional
domains
based
on
each
student's
individual
needs
and
educational
program.
Support
students
in
developing
independence,
functional
communication,
self-management,
social
skills,
classroom
routines,
and
successful
transitions
throughout
the
school
day.
Supervise,
direct,
and
collaborate
with
classroom
paraprofessionals
to
ensure
consistent
implementation
of
instructional
programs,
data
collection
procedures,
behavioral
supports,
and
student-specific
accommodations.
Create
and
maintain
a
structured,
predictable,
positive,
and
supportive
classroom
environment
that
promotes
student
engagement,
learning,
safety,
and
independence.
Collaborate
with
the
educational
team
to
support
appropriate
opportunities
for
inclusion
and
participation
with
nondisabled
peers
in
accordance
with
each
student's
IEP
and
least
restrictive
environment
(LRE)
needs.
