Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited University
• Valid State of Texas Special Education Teacher EC-12 certificate-or-eligible for employment through an Alternative Certification Program (ACP). Eligible candidates must also meet requirements by passing TExES examination(s) for this position
• Resource Teacher (K-12); preferred
• Bilingual Certification; preferred

• General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
• Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

The role of the Special Education Resource Teacher is to provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in the core academic subject area assigned to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enable student to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.
