    Education

    Bachelor's

    degree

    required,

    in

    Special

    Education

    or

    a

    related

    field

    Successful

    experience

    as

    a

    special

    education

    teacher

    or

    student

    teacher

    is

    required.

    Preferred

    Qualifications:

    Knowledge

    of

    structured,

    explicit

    instructional

    practices

    for

    reading

    and

    math.

    Experience

    implementing

    IEPs

    and

    progress

    monitoring

    systems.

    Strong

    collaboration

    and

    communication

    skills.

    Experience

    providing

    targeted

    English

    Language

    Arts

    and

    mathematics

    instruction

    aligned

    to

    grade-level

    standards

    in

    a

    resource

    room

    setting.

    Commitment

    to

    inclusive

    practices

    and

    supporting

    student

    access

    to

    the

    general

    education

    curriculum.

    Responsibilities:

    Design

    and

    implement

    specially

    designed

    instruction

    based

    on

    student

    IEPs.

    Organize

    a

    well-structured

    multi-age

    and

    multi-ability

    classroom.

    Develop

    and

    implement

    IEPs

    for

    a

    caseload

    of

    students

    with

    varying

    disabilities.

    Monitor

    and

    document

    student

    progress

    on

    IEP

    goals/objectives.

    Collaborate

    with

    general

    education

    teachers

    and

    related

    service

    providers.

    Provide

    direct

    instruction

    in

    English

    Language

    Arts

    and

    mathematics

    aligned

    to

    general

    education

    curriculum

    standards,

    serving

    as

    the

    primary

    instructor

    for

    these

    content

    areas

    for

    assigned

    students.

    Schedule,

    attend,

    and

    conduct

    Multidisciplinary

    Evaluation

    Team

    (MET)

    and

    Individualized

    Educational

    Plan

    (IEP)

    meetings

    within

    required

    timelines.

    Maintain

    special

    education

    documentation

    and

    compliance

    requirements.

    Communicate

    regularly

    with

    families

    and

    school

    staff

    regarding

    student

    progress.

    Participate

    in

    ongoing

    professional

    development

    to

    maintain

    required

    certification.

    Perform

    other

    duties

    as

    assigned

    by

    the

    Building

    Principal/Director

    of

    Special

    Services.
