QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree or higher from a recognized, accredited college or university;
- Valid certification as a special education teacher;
- Demonstrated successful experince in working with special needs students preferred;
- Minimum of three (3) years of successful experience as a certified special education teacher preferred;
Demonstrated skill in leading, motivating, coaching, and collaborating with teachers
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Probationary/Term Contract: 197 days
SALARY:
$67,640/IA-3
Salary Range (based on experience) as set by the Board of Trustees for the school year
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Successful experience writing, implementing and evaluating IEP goals and benchmarks.
- Provide teachers with staff development at all levels in the standards-based IEP process.
- Provide technical assistance to teachers in working with special education software management to develop PLAAFPS, IEP goals and benchmarks.
- Ability to use multiple techniques for collecting data on IEP goals and benchmarks.
- Ability to analyze, interpret and report data on IEP goals and benchmarks.
- Collaborate with the assistant superintendent for educational support services, director of special education, assistant director of special education and program coordinator in the IEP process.
- Collaborate with the director of special education and the program coordinators in the implementation special education software management systems.
- Help facilitate recommended changes to programs based on formal and informal program reviews and local, state, and federal guidelines.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the assistant superintendent of educational support services and the director of instructional services and support.
