WORK CALENDAR: 180 Days
STANDARD HOURS: 5.8 Hours per Day / 29 Hours per Week
Position Overview
The employee in this position provides instructional and supervisory support to students with special needs. Working under the direction of the Building Principal and in collaboration with instructional staff, the individual supports student learning through individualized and small-group assistance while maintaining a safe, respectful, and confidential environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise, support, and tutor students with special needs in classroom and school settings
- Provide individualized and small-group instructional support to students requiring additional assistance
- Assist in implementing instructional strategies as directed by certified staff
- Maintain confidentiality and respect students' rights to privacy at all times
- Participate in staff development, training sessions, and professional learning opportunities
- Support a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Building Principal
Qualifications
- Experience working with students with special needs preferred
- Ability to work effectively with students, staff, and families
- Strong communication, patience, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow instructional plans and work collaboratively as part of a team
