Qualifications:High School diploma or equivalent General clerical skills Computer skills-knowledge of word processing program Must be of high moral character, courteous and dependableReports To: Special Education Supervisor, Special Education Assistant SupervisorSupervises: N/AJob Goals:To assist the Special Education Supervisor in the provision of legal and compliant special programs.Performance Responsibilities:In person job attendanceServes as liaison between Central Office and various school programs Maintains necessary homebound reports Performs general clerical duties involving typing letters/memos and filing records Maintains a record of requisitions issued, obtains purchase orders, orders materials and supplies, processes orders, verifies the packing slip with invoice or purchase order, records any damage, submits bill for payment, updates inventory list, and distributes materials to individualsDistributes all testing materials related to SE referrals Takes referrals for OT, PT, Psychologicals, and Intensive Intervention Committee Maintains paperwork related to referralsAssist department with State Department monitoringMaintains record of in-services and staff development activities provided through the SE Department Answers all phone calls to SE Department, responds appropriately to requests for information, and routes all calls to proper extensionTypes Psychologicals, processes contracted Psychologicals, and maintains Psychological files Processes all incoming and outgoing student recordsCompiles and maintains fixed assets inventory on the computerCompiles and maintains the special education inventoryCopies necessary forms to be distributed to supervisors, principals, teachers, and staffMaintains files for yearly reports, helps prepare reports, and submits to SDE Maintains records and issues 1099's for contracted services annuallyKeeps inventory of textbooks and record of numbers assigned to teacher/studentAssist with management of web-based IEP programMaintains confidentiality and adhere to FERPA, HIPAA (if applicable), and district policiesPerforms other duties as assigned Capacity and Ability Requirements: The usual job demands require the following physical requirements: speaking, some lifting (up to 50 lbs.), carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, some stooping, kneeling, and physical dexterity.Terms of Employment:Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with the District's approved compensation plan.
