Swansea Public Schools NOTICE OF VACANCY / VACANCIES DATE: July 22, 2026 Title of Position: Number of Openings Special Education Coordinator 1 Salary Range: Date Needed: $85,000 - $95,000 August 17, 2026 Primary responsibilities include chairing special education Team meetings, ensuring compliance with state and federal special education regulations and district procedures, supporting district initiatives, and providing guidance and support to special education staff. This position will support both the elementary and secondary schools. This position will not be included in the Swansea Educators' Association Bargaining Unit. Qualifications Required: Education: Bachelor 's or master 's degree in education or related field of study . Experience: Experience working with students with disabilities, experience participating in special education meetings, working knowledge of Individualized Education Plans and accommodations/modifications. Other: Strong organizational and communication skills. Successful candidate must be able to effectively collaborate with all stakeholders and demonstrate strong problem-solving skills. Possession of valid Massachusetts Educator Licensure in Special Education. Qualifications Preferred: Education: Master 's degree or higher in Special Education or related field of study . Experience: A minimum of three (3) years in an educational role supporting special education students and/or programming. Experience working with elementary and secondary school students. Experience with chairing special education meetings. Other: Knowledge of special education transition planning. Possession of valid Massachusetts DESE administrator licensure.
