Special Education Assistant Compass Program
Hourly Pay Scale: $26.31 - $30.22
Position Summary:
We are seeking a special educator assistant to work in our Compass program at the Parker Damon Lower School. The Compass program is part of a K-12 continuum of services. The Compass Program offers students a safe and structured continuum of therapeutic supports and specialized instruction to foster social and/or emotional development across all settings while accessing rigorous academic experiences. The Compass Program explicitly teaches positive self-management, self-awareness, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making to promote independence and personal growth.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide positive behavior supports and academic interventions for students
Work with lead teacher to provide academic, social, and emotional support and intervention
Work collaboratively with team of general education and special education teachers and therapists
Collect data
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in special education or related field preferred
Experience in public school setting
Experience working with children with disabilities
Able to take initiative and work independently
Knowledge of early childhood and adolescent development
