    JOB SUMMARY
     Kutak Rock LLP’ s Tallahassee office has a need for a lateral associate attorney for its Special Districts practice group. These special districts are local units of special-purpose government, offering a unique opportunity to practice across multiple areas of local government law—including public finance, contracts, public records, and governing board counsel—within a private practice setting. This role is well suited for an attorney with three to six years of experience in, or an interest in developing expertise in, governmental law and transactional practice while working closely with experienced, nationally recognized partners.
     
     QUALIFICATIONS: Skills and Abilities
    • Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate competently and professionally with clients and supervising attorneys
    • Ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously and deliver work efficiently and on time
    • Ability to learn new legal and factual subject matter as required by each engagement
    • Ability to work effectively under pressure and to meet deadlines
    • Strong organizational and matter management skills
    • Ability to work professionally and collaboratively with partners, associates, support staff, and large transaction teams
    • Ability and willingness to travel
     
    QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Experience
    • Admitted to the Florida Bar in good standing, or eligible for admission within one year
    • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school
    • 3-6 years of experience in transactional, governmental, or public finance law preferred
     
    Position Information
    Status: Exempt
    Work Arrangement: Hybrid, with manager approval
