Spatial & Experience Designer

Our client is seeking a Spatial & Experience Designer to define how the brand comes to life in the physical world. This is a deeply creative role within the brand and marketing team, reporting to the Art Director and partnering closely with the Founder and retail leadership. This role goes beyond retail design. You will be responsible for shaping our client's presence across stores, wholesale environments, events, pop-ups, and future formats—building a cohesive, immersive, and distinctly our client experience wherever the brand shows up physically. You will author the spatial expression of the brand, translating creative vision into a clear, scalable system that can be executed consistently across all touchpoints.

This role is based in New Orleans Headquarters, 5 days a week.

Key Responsibilities
Define & Evolve Physical Brand Experience
- Partner with the Founder and Creative team to define and continuously evolve how our client shows up in physical space
- Translate brand vision into spatial environments, layouts, materials, fixtures, and sensory moments
- Shape new concepts across retail, wholesale, and experiential formats
 
Author Spatial & Experience Standards
- Develop and own Spatial & Experience Standards—covering visual, spatial, sensory, and behavioral elements
- Build a clear, actionable system that ensures consistency while allowing for evolution
- Create standards that can be executed across teams, markets, and formats without dilution of quality
 
Drive Creative Excellence Across Environments
- Own the design and creative direction of new store buildouts and physical brand activations
- Provide hands-on creative oversight throughout execution, protecting design integrity from concept through launch
- Elevate the quality and distinctiveness of every physical touchpoint
 
Partner on Build & Execution
- Collaborate closely with the Construction & Build team to translate design into executed environments
- Provide clear design handoffs, ensuring all creative elements are accurately realized in build
- Identify, onboard, and manage external vendors and partners to bring concepts to life
- Oversee vendor output, maintaining a high bar for craftsmanship, detail, and execution quality
 
Build Scalable Systems
- Translate creative vision into repeatable frameworks that can be implemented by retail and operations teams
- Balance innovation with consistency, ensuring the brand experience scales without losing its edge
- Act as the connective layer between Creative, Retail, Operations, and Build teams
 
Requirements
- Experience in spatial design across retail, hospitality, events, and immersive brand environments
- Strong creative point of view with a deep understanding of how brand translates into design, space, and experience
- Ability to think beyond interiors—considering flow, behavior, sensory detail, and emotional impact
- Experience partnering with construction/build teams and managing external vendors
- Proven ability to bring concepts from design through execution at a high level of quality
- Experience building systems or standards that scale across multiple locations or formats
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and projects
- Comfortable giving clear, direct feedback and upholding a high creative bar
- Ability to balance creative ambition with operational realities
