The Pentucket Regional School District is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Spanish Teacher to join our World Languages Department. The successful candidate will foster a love of language learning while promoting cultural awareness and global citizenship. This position involves delivering engaging, standards-based instruction to students in accordance with district and state curriculum frameworks.

Qualifications Preferred:

• Bachelor's degree in Spanish, Education, or a related field.
• Fluent in Spanish and English.
• Massachusetts DESE License in Spanish (5-12 or appropriate level).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Commitment to culturally responsive teaching practices.
• Experience teaching in a public school setting is preferred.
• Knowledge and capacity on organizing and providing professional development and as a curriculum developer.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Successful completion of a Criminal Record Check (C.O.R.I.) and fingerprint check.

Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver engaging Spanish lessons aligned with curriculum standards.
• Teach grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, conversation, reading, writing, and cultural awareness.
• Design and administer assessments to evaluate student progress.
• Foster a classroom environment that promotes respect, inclusivity, and active participation.
• Integrate technology and interactive resources to enhance language acquisition.
• Communicate regularly with students, parents, and colleagues regarding student progress.
• Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student performance.
• Encourage students to participate in Spanish-related extracurricular activities, clubs, or events.

Reports to: Building Principal

Work Year: 184 days (School year)

Salary/Benefits: Per PAT Association contract

perform the essential functions of this job.

• Ability to work in a normal classroom and school building environment.
• Ability to move freely about the building to perform duties with students and teachers.
• Ability to utilize computers and other administrative technologies appropriate to the position.
