    Job Title: Spacecraft Thermal Technician
    Job Location: Laurel, MD 20723
    Duration: 21 Months Contract

    We have an outstanding Contract position for a Spacecraft Thermal Technician to join a leading Company located in the Laurel, MD surrounding area.

    We are a dedicated hardware build, test, and launch organization seeking a highly skilled, detail oriented, hands on professional who thrives on clear direction and collaborative teamwork. As a member of our team, you will deepen your existing expertise while acquiring new, independent work skills, designing, fabricating, installing, and testing thermal systems for valuable, one of a kind spacecraft hardware. You'll join a driven group of engineers, scientists, and technical staff who share a passion for our unique products and services, which we deliver to sponsors and U.S. government agencies.

    Duties: working with thermal materials (foam) to insulate the Dragonfly spacecraft, encapsulating foam pieces with tape, very intricate and need attention to details, must have experience with sewing, upholstery, and experience with hand skills is a must
    Job Responsibilities:
    • Design, fabricate, and install thermal insulation materials (MLI, foam, etc.)
    • Interface with designers, engineers and other technical support staff in order to solve complex problems.
    • Be responsible for reading and interpreting drawings, procedures, and following quality control guidelines and inspection procedures.
    • Be a trusted partner that the engineers and other technical staff rely on to provide your independent assessments of various aspects of the work we are doing.

    Basic Hiring Criteria:
    • Have experience working in aerospace, sewing, upholstery, textiles, composites, or other detail-oriented work.
    • Strong attention to detail.
    • Are willing and able to travel to launch sites and other testing facilities as needed.
    • Have the ability to communicate differing opinions in a collaborative environment without conflict among other team members.
