Description

PGS Worldwide is seeking Spacecraft Assembly & Integration Technicians in Redondo Beach, California for an approximately four-month onsite contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. These positions will support the mechanical and electromechanical assembly, integration, and testing of spacecraft and payload hardware. Technicians will work closely with mechanical engineers to fabricate, assemble, integrate, and test flight and prototype hardware in a precision manufacturing environment.

Required Skills

  • Intermediate track: High school diploma or equivalent with 2 years of additional education and/or related experience.
  • Experienced track: High school diploma or equivalent with 6 years of additional education and/or related experience.
  • Hands-on experience using a variety of hand tools and mechanical equipment.
  • Technical knowledge of manufacturing operations and mechanical assembly procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail when performing precision assembly and integration work.
  • Ability to work any shift and support extended work weeks as required.
  • U.S. citizenship required.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience reading engineering drawings, process specifications, and work-order instructions.
  • Experience working in cleanroom environments.
  • Experience using precision measuring instruments.
  • Spacecraft production, assembly, integration, or test experience.
  • Fastener torqueing experience.
  • Harness routing, installation, and termination experience.
  • Unit or box installation and removal experience.
  • Thermal component installation experience.
  • Spot bonding using structural or conductive epoxies.
  • Flight connector mating and de-mating experience.
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills for work orders and manufacturing documentation.

What You’ll Do

  • Assist mechanical engineers with the development, assembly, and integration of spacecraft mechanical and electromechanical components, assemblies, and systems.
  • Fabricate and assemble new or modified mechanical components and assemblies.
  • Support mechanical integration of spacecraft and payload hardware.
  • Assist with the development of subsystem and system test methods.
  • Set up and test prototype, flight, and subassembly hardware under operational conditions.
  • Perform precision mechanical assembly using hand tools and specialized equipment.
  • Support spacecraft assembly, integration, test, and launch preparation activities.
  • Follow engineering drawings, process specifications, work orders, and manufacturing procedures.
  • Work with flight hardware in environments requiring strict attention to workmanship and process control.

Work Schedule / Shift

  • 1st shift, 9/80 A schedule.
  • Must be willing to work other shifts and extended work weeks when required.
  • Approximately 10% travel.

Pay

  • Intermediate track: $45.62 per hour.
  • Experienced track: $55.07 per hour.
