Description

In this role, youll design and develop software for space robots - mobile robots, robotic arms, and drones - as part of SoftServes Robotics Group, a team working at the intersection of space robotics, autonomous systems, and industrial automation. Youll own solutions end-to-end, from early concept to delivery, and engage directly with world-leading clients across space, energy, medical, and manufacturing domains.

This is a US-based remote role with an anticipated base salary range of $138,000.00 – $217,000.00 annually, plus variable compensation.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop software solutions for space robots using C/C++ and Python on embedded Linux systems, from rapid prototypes to production-ready products
  • Verify, validate, and integrate flight software - from requirements definition through to space-qualified, launch-ready products
  • Test robotics solutions in simulation environments such as NVIDIA Isaac Sim, NVIDIA Omniverse, and MATLAB, and validate them in real-world conditions
  • Design automated robotic systems to improve production efficiency and precision across space, energy, medical, and industrial domains
  • Research emerging trends in robotics navigation, sensing, decision-making, and robotic mechanism performance, and share findings with the team
  • Lead client workshops, deliver technical presentations to C-level stakeholders, and contribute to solution estimations and proposals as part of presales activities
  • Collaborate with space team leads, delivery managers, and company leadership across multiple concurrent projects

Requirements

  • Proven experience in architecture and development of application software for flight and ground systems
  • Hands-on experience writing satellite or spacecraft software
  • Strong background in verification, validation, and integration of flight software - from requirements through to launched, space-qualified products
  • Proficiency in C/C++ and Python for embedded Linux systems
  • Experience with simulation and automation of manufacturing processes, including rockets and rocket components
  • Confident in conducting technical presales activities - workshops, presentations, and C-level meetings
  • Strong mathematical foundation with an analytical, detail-oriented approach to problem-solving
  • Familiarity with spacecraft communication protocols such as CCSDS, CAN, or SpaceWire (as an advantage)
  • Experience with autonomous systems and simulation tools, including NVIDIA Isaac Sim, NVIDIA Omniverse, ANSYS, or MATLAB (would be a plus)
