Space Hardware Project Engineer

If selected you will: Provide design and test support in various aspects of development in support of the Johnson Space Center Engineering DirectorateSupport project teams with development of test procedures and verification and validation processesPerform testing and verification of flight hardwareMaintain and ensure baseline test configurations and document any configuration changesGenerate essential paperwork and documents for tasks assigned, such as Task Performance Sheets (TPS), Discrepancy Reports (DR), and Detailed Test Procedures (DTP), as neededWork in a collaborative, team environment and report to project managers for technical support, task assignment, and processesPlan and execute hardware troubleshooting to investigate mechanical and electrical failures within hardware or test support hardwarePerform job functions based on pre-established guidelines or instructionsWork with technicians to build and test designed systemsPerform other duties as required​Qualifications: This position has been posted at multiple levels. Must have the ability to visualize and work with complex mechanical/electrical systems and work with others in problem solving as part of a teamFamiliarity with Microsoft Office products​Preferred Qualifications: Experience with the design, assembly, verification, testing, and operation of space hardwareExperience with NASA JSC Flight Hardware Life Cycle, Certification, and Engineering processesPrior experience with hardware anomaly troubleshooting and failure analysis.
