Job Title: Space Force - Systems Network Engineer

Security Clearance: Department of Defense Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire. Candidates must be able to obtain a Secret clearance within a reasonable amount of time from date of hire.

Responsibilities

• Design and plan network systems by providing specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture.
• Provide specific, detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques, and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements.
• Represent organization as prime technical contact on contracts and projects
• Identifies opportunities to apply AI for continuous improvement and innovation

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or a related Science or Mathematics field, plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; or Master’s degree plus a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, a related specialized area or field is required (or equivalent experience) plus a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in large networking systems
• Technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, hubs, bridges and gateways, etc.
• Subject Matter Expert (SME) in at least one discipline/field with a working knowledge in multiple adjacent disciplines/fields
• Space and Ground Mission Experience
• Strong ability to develop solutions to highly complex problems that require significant ingenuity, innovation and creativity
• Space and Ground Mission Experience
• AWS Solutions Architect, Advanced Networking, Security Specialty, or equivalent cloud certification
• Cisco CCNP, Juniper JNCIP/JNCIE, Palo Alto, or comparable network/security certification.Experience with AWS SC2S, GovCloud, Direct Connect, Transit Gateway, and hybrid-cloud architectures
• Experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, Python, or other automation/IaC tools
• Experience with SDA, PWSA, GMI, satellite ground systems, mission networks, or Space Vehicle Vendor integration.Experience with IPv6 design, implementation, and transition planning in enterprise or DoD environments
• Ability to lead a team and mentor staff
• Strong independent judgement
