Join a dynamic team of engineers dedicated to the fabrication, testing, and delivery of high-reliability electronics for aerospace programs. You will work on a range of equipment, including high-reliability harnesses for space and defense, ground-based PCB integration, and customized test racks engineered to precise standards.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers through the integration and test phase to ensure systems meet specific hardware requirements from NASA.
• Troubleshoot electronic systems, understanding the basics of testing, integration, and cable crimping/harness build and integration.
• Document results and maintain accurate records throughout the process.
• Utilize standard electronics engineering tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, network analyzers, and signal generators.
• Participate in final systems delivery by leveraging a broad-based skillset.

Essential Skills

• Experience with high-reliability systems, specifically in spaceflight hardware, defense systems, aviation, or avionics applications.
• Proficiency in building, integrating, and troubleshooting electronic cables, wire harnesses, circuit board integration, and other electronics assemblies.
• Ability to read schematics, use a multimeter, and perform crimping, splicing, and connector work.
• Familiarity with IPC-610/620 or NASA 8739.4 certifications, even if expired, is highly beneficial.
• Knowledge of J-STD-001 with spaceflight addendum for soldering is advantageous.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• An Associate"s Degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline is preferred; equivalent experience is acceptable.
• 3-5+ years of relevant experience in the field.
• Experience with space systems, particularly those adhering to NASA or other high-reliability standards.
• Experience with basic electronics troubleshooting and benchtop tools like oscilloscopes and voltmeters.
• Interest in leading a program or managing a group of technicians is a plus.
• Experience with polymerics and working with epoxy is desirable.

Work Environment

This position is based in an office environment. You will be part of a small, close-knit team that works on space hardware for various clients, including the Naval Research Lab. The work culture promotes a family atmosphere and invests in team members" growth. You will be involved in projects like "perception systems" and camera-integrated electronics for autonomous systems.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bethesda, MD.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $44.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
