Primary Responsibilities

In the role of the Southwest Region Water Business Group Director, we''ll count on you to:

  • Develop and lead business group initiatives for the Region working with Market Sector and Business Group leadership

  • Develop, implement and maintain an effective regional business group program, including business development strategies, new business prospects and technical services, quality delivery, production methods and standards, all within established strategic goals and objectives of the company and business group.

  • Develop a strong and effective regional team with your Regional Business Development Director and Regional Market Sector Leaders to drive regional growth and meet growth expectations.

  • Work cooperatively and partner with other Regional Business Group Directors, Regional Operations Directors, Area Managers and Market Sector Directors to drive Business Group strategies and initiatives in the Region.

  • Mentor Area Business Group Managers, Area Business Development Managers, and key personnel.

  • Lead in the identification and prioritization of strategic hires and in the recruiting of candidates.

  • Actively participate in water industry associations and organizations.

  • Add strong business skills as the Business Group point of interface with Operations.

  • Be committed to quality, improvement, and HDR values.

  • Perform other duties as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven relationships within major water organizations within the Southwest states of the US.

  • Applicable registrations and association activities.

  • Frequent travel is required (50%+).

  • Committed to quality improvement and HDR values.

  • Strong operations and client development skills.

  • Experience with alternative delivery contracting and risk management

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor''s degree in a Professional, Architecture, Engineering or closely related field
  • A minimum of 12 years experience in related field
  • Demonstrated experience with leading diverse teams
  • Works cooperatively with other regional business group directors, regional and local office managers, technical and marketing directors
  • Committed to quality, improvement and HDR values
  • Strong business skills
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
