Job Title: Softball Assistant Coach

Start Date/End Date: November 2026- March 2027
Salary: $2,700 Stipend per SEA/CBA paid at the end of the season based on the payment calendar.
Job Summary:
The Sub Varsity Softball Coach is responsible for assisting the Varsity Head Coach in organizing, and developing all aspects of the high school softball program in alignment with the school's athletic philosophy and district goals. The coach will foster a positive and competitive environment that emphasizes player development, teamwork, accountability, and sportsmanship.
Key Responsibilities:
- Organize and supervise all levels of the softball program, including tryouts, practices, games, and offseason conditioning.
- Teach and develop fundamental and advanced softball skills such as batting mechanics, pitching techniques, defensive positioning, and base running.
- Develop and implement structured practice plans designed to improve team performance and player confidence.
- Foster teamwork, sportsmanship, and a culture of respect, discipline, and hard work.
- Communicate clearly and consistently with student-athletes, parents, and school personnel regarding schedules, expectations, and team progress.
- Monitor academic progress and eligibility of all players; encourage balance between athletics and academics.
- Ensure compliance with district, league, and state athletic association regulations.
- Maintain inventory of uniforms, equipment, and supplies and ensure safety standards are met.
- Supervise athletes during all practices, games, travel, and team events
Qualifications:
- Previous coaching and/or competitive softball experience required at the high school level/club or higher required.
- Strong knowledge of softball rules, techniques, and game strategy.
- Valid CPR, First Aid, and Concussion Awareness certification (or ability to obtain prior to season).
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to motivate and teach athletes skills and drills.
- Must meet all district, league, and state athletic association certification requirements.
