Start Date/End Date: August 2026-October 2026 (2026-2027 School Year - FALL ATHLETICS)
Salary: $3,600.00 Stipend per the SEA CBA (paid at the end of the season based on the payment calendar)
Position Summary:
The Head Golf Coach is responsible for leading, organizing, and managing the high school golf program. This role includes teaching golf fundamentals, promoting teamwork and sportsmanship, ensuring student-athletes meet academic and behavioral standards, and managing the logistics of matches and practices. The coach is expected to foster a positive environment where athletes can develop both their golf skills and character.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and conduct practice sessions that focus on skill development, game strategy, and physical conditioning.
Instruct student-athletes on the rules, techniques, and etiquette of golf.
Organize and supervise team practices, matches, and tournaments.
Promote academic achievement and personal growth among players.
Coordinate with the Athletic Director regarding scheduling, transportation, and budgetary needs.
Monitor and maintain all golf equipment, uniforms, and team supplies.
Maintain eligibility records and enforce team, school, and district rules.
Foster a culture of integrity, accountability, and sportsmanship.
Communicate regularly with student-athletes, parents, staff, and school administration.
Oversee offseason development and encourage participation in golf-related activities and events.
Serve as a positive role model and mentor to student-athletes.
Qualifications:
Prior experience playing and coaching golf at the high school level but preferably on the collegiate level or higher.
Knowledge of golf techniques, rules, and course management.
Strong organizational and leadership skills.
Ability to teach and inspire student-athletes with varying levels of ability.
