    Job Summary

    Sea Pines Resort is seeking a skilled and motivated Sous Chef to serve as the second-in-command of the kitchen. This role supports the Executive Chef in delivering exceptional culinary experiences while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. The Sous Chef plays a key role in team leadership, menu execution, and overall kitchen operations to ensure outstanding guest satisfaction.

    Must have valid U.S. work authorization at the time of hire.

    Essential Functions

    • Assist the Executive Chef and Director of Food and Beverage with menu planning and development
    • Prepare and execute high-quality dishes with consistent presentation and taste standards
    • Ensure kitchen operations run efficiently and meet established service and quality expectations
    • Supervise and support kitchen staff during food preparation and service
    • Step in for the Executive Chef as needed to direct kitchen operations
    • Train, coach, and develop team members; evaluate performance and provide feedback
    • Create and manage staff schedules to support operational needs
    • Maintain appropriate inventory levels; order supplies and manage stock
    • Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards
    • Resolve operational challenges quickly and effectively
    • Maintain timekeeping and payroll records accurately
    • Foster a positive, professional, and team-oriented work environment

    Qualifications

    • Valid U.S. work authorization required at time of hire
    • Strong culinary skills with experience in menu development and execution
    • Proven leadership and kitchen management experience
    • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
    • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle high-pressure situations

    Education and Experience

    • Culinary degree or certification preferred; equivalent experience will be considered
    • 2-4 years of relevant kitchen leadership experience or combination of education and experience
