Job Summary

At Wolfgang Puck Catering, exceptional food is at the heart of unforgettable guest experiences. Located inside the renowned Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, Fanny's Restaurant blends California-inspired cuisine, hospitality, culture, and creativity in a one-of-a-kind setting. We are seeking a passionate Sous Chef who thrives in a high-energy, chef-driven environment and is excited to contribute to a culinary program that celebrates innovation, seasonality, and excellence.

This is an opportunity to work alongside an accomplished culinary team, lead talented kitchen professionals, and create memorable dining experiences for museum guests, special events, and the vibrant Los Angeles community.

As a Sous Chef, you will play a key leadership role in the daily operations of the kitchen, partnering closely with the Executive Chef to deliver exceptional food quality, consistency, and guest satisfaction. You will support menu execution, team development, inventory management, and operational excellence while fostering a collaborative and inclusive kitchen culture.

This position is ideal for a culinary professional who enjoys mentoring others, values craftsmanship, and is energized by working in a dynamic restaurant environment where creativity and hospitality come together.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the planning, preparation, and execution of high-quality menu offerings across restaurant and event operations.
• Coordinate and actively participate in food production while maintaining exceptional standards of taste, presentation, and consistency.
• Partner with culinary leadership on menu development, seasonal offerings, and innovative dining experiences.
• Help launch and implement new culinary initiatives in collaboration with culinary and marketing teams.
• Assist with inventory management, purchasing, ordering, and cost-control initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations.
• Lead, coach, and develop culinary team members through hands-on training and mentorship.
• Foster a positive, respectful, and team-oriented kitchen environment.
• Support scheduling, production planning, and efficient kitchen operations.
• Maintain Wolfgang Puck Catering's commitment to culinary excellence and guest satisfaction.

What We're Looking For

• Experience in culinary operations, including leadership or supervisory responsibilities.
• Background in restaurants, hotels, catering, fine dining, hospitality, corporate dining, healthcare, education, or related foodservice environments.
• Passion for elevated cuisine, ingredient quality, and exceptional guest experiences.
• Understanding of food production, menu execution, sanitation standards, and kitchen safety practices.
• Experience supporting inventory management, purchasing, and food cost control.
• Ability to lead by example and inspire, train, and develop team members.
• Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel.
• ServSafe or Department of Health certification is preferred.
• Culinary degree or formal culinary training is preferred.
