The Sonographer - Staff Nurse is an integral part of our pregnancy resources clinic and exists to offer loving and compassionate truth, hope, and practical help for those facing a pregnancy (planned or unplanned). This role requires strong active listening skills, curiosity, compassion, kindness and problem-solving abilities, as well as a gracious heart filled with the Holy Spirit that seeks to love and honor all clients as they navigate challenging pregnancy and life decisions.

Qualifications:

  • Be fully aligned with the vision and mission of Care Net Pregnancy Center of Central Texas and be in full agreement with our Statement of Faith.
  • Regularly attend church and be part of a faith community aligned with our Center's Statement of Faith.
  • Active LVN or RN license in the State of Texas with at least 3 years' experience (preferably in labor/delivery or obstetrics setting).
  • Current Limited Obstetric Ultrasound (LOU) training, OR willingness to complete LOU training as part of employment.
  • Willingness and ability to compassionately counsel and minister to clients before, during, and after the ultrasound procedure in alignment with the Center's vision and mission.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, dependable, responsible, and a collaborative team player.
  • Exhibit strong communication skills, including the ability to communicate with clarity and compassion during emotionally sensitive conversations.
  • Basic computer proficiency (electronic client records, scheduling, email).

Duties:

  • Be a solid team member who looks for every opportunity to greet and serve any clients that walk through our door.
  • Complete client intake protocols/interviews and run pregnancy tests.
  • Perform limited obstetric ultrasounds under the supervision of the Medical Director and according to established Center protocols, to confirm pregnancy, gestational age, viability, and intrauterine location.
  • Counsel and minister to each client during the ultrasound visit - sharing information about fetal development, available resources, and hope - per the Center's vision and mission, meeting the client where she is with the intent to reach her heart.
  • Listen with curiosity to each client to identify barriers, and then communicate the appropriate information, support services, and encouragement with intent to meet the client where they are and reach their heart.
  • Make referrals for OBGYN care and case management/classes at our Support Site.
  • Keep accurate digital records of all client interactions, including ultrasound documentation and images, per Medical Director protocols, and submit billing in a timely manner as instructed.
  • Make reminder calls and follow-up calls as needed.
  • Maintain ultrasound equipment per manufacturer and Medical Director guidelines.
  • Assist Receptionist at front desk as requested.
  • Participate in ongoing training as required, including continuing education in LOU.
  • Any other duties as requested.

Pay dependent on experience.
