    Description

    Application deadline: Nov 1, 2026

Are you ready to lead complex technical transformations at scale for one of our most strategic customers? We"re seeking a Solutions Architect III who thrives at the intersection of technical depth and cross-functional leadership. In this role, you"ll partner directly with customer architects and AWS product teams to architect solutions spanning Generative AI, cloud migration and modernization, and data analytics. You"ll tackle sophisticated challenges that require not just technical expertise, but the ability to drive results through delegation, coordinate multiple teams, and maintain composure during critical support escalations.

This position requires a unique blend of technical confidence and emotional intelligence. You"ll need to dive deep into domains like GenAI, network security, and data analytics while effectively challenging ideas and building consensus across diverse stakeholder groups. Your leadership will be measured not by how much you own personally, but by how effectively you scale impact through others, creating a network of subject matter experts who can serve our customer"s evolving needs.

    Key job responsibilities

    • Lead end-to-end architecture design for complex, interconnected systems spanning Generative AI, migration/modernization, data analytics, and network security domains, working directly with customer architects and AWS product managers to deliver solutions that address both immediate needs and long-term business outcomes
    • Drive cross-functional collaboration across multiple AWS teams and customer organizations, building consensus among discordant viewpoints and harmonizing technical strategies to ensure successful delivery of large-scale initiatives
    • Delegate effectively to extended Solutions Architect teams and subject matter experts, building capability and ownership across the organization while maintaining ultimate accountability for technical outcomes and customer satisfaction
    • Provide technical leadership during critical situations including production support escalations and live site events, applying deep technical judgment to identify root causes, coordinate resolution efforts, and maintain customer confidence under pressure
    • Develop reusable technical content including reference architectures, sample code, and best practice documentation that accelerates solution adoption and serves as thought leadership for both internal teams and customer stakeholders

    A day in the life

You"ll begin your day reviewing technical escalations and coordinating with multiple AWS service teams to drive resolution. Mid-morning brings architecture review sessions where you"ll work directly with customer architects to challenge assumptions and refine designs for their latest Generative AI initiative. Afternoons might include leading a cross-team planning session for an upcoming migration project, mentoring Solutions Architects on handling customer dynamics, or crafting technical documentation that will become a reusable asset for future engagements. Throughout the week, you"ll balance deep technical work with strategic conversations, ensuring that immediate customer needs align with their long-term transformation goals.

    It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

    Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
