Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Data Solution Architect to support enterprise data modernization and transformation initiatives for a leading healthcare organization. This individual will be responsible for designing scalable, cloud-based data solutions that enable enterprise data integration, analytics, and modern data platform capabilities.
The ideal candidate will combine a strong foundation in solution architecture and application development with expertise in data engineering patterns, data integration architecture, cloud data services, and modern platforms such as Snowflake and Databricks.
Key Responsibilities
Design end-to-end data solution architectures supporting enterprise data integration, engineering, analytics, and modernization initiatives.
Develop scalable and reusable data engineering and integration patterns across cloud and hybrid environments.
Architect solutions leveraging modern cloud data platforms, including Snowflake, Databricks, and AWS and/or Azure data services.
Define architectural approaches for batch processing, real-time data ingestion, streaming, and event-driven data integration.
Design solutions supporting ETL/ELT pipelines, data transformation, data movement, and orchestration across enterprise platforms.
Collaborate with enterprise architects, data engineers, application teams, and business stakeholders to ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture standards.
Establish architecture patterns for data lakes, data warehouses, lakehouse architectures, and enterprise data pipelines.
Incorporate data security, governance, scalability, performance, and reliability considerations into solution designs.
Evaluate emerging data technologies, integration tools, and cloud services for potential enterprise adoption.
Provide technical guidance and participate in architecture reviews throughout the solution delivery lifecycle.
Support integration between enterprise applications, APIs, messaging platforms, and modern data environments.
Develop architectural diagrams, technical specifications, and reusable solution patterns.
Required Qualifications
7+ years of experience in software development, data engineering, data architecture, or solution architecture.
Strong experience designing enterprise data solutions, including data engineering and data integration architectures.
Hands-on architectural knowledge of Snowflake, Databricks, or comparable modern cloud data platforms.
Strong understanding of AWS and/or Azure cloud-based data services and architecture patterns.
Experience with ETL/ELT design, data ingestion, transformation, and orchestration patterns.
Knowledge of batch and real-time data processing, including event-driven and streaming architectures.
Experience designing data warehouse, data lake, or lakehouse solutions.
Understanding of data modeling, data quality, metadata management, and data governance principles.
Familiarity with APIs, microservices, and enterprise application integration.
Understanding of containerization technologies, including Docker, Kubernetes, and/or OpenShift.
Familiarity with CI/CD practices and automation within modern data engineering environments.
Ability to create detailed architectural diagrams using Visio, Draw.io, or similar tools.
Strong communication skills and the ability to translate business and technical requirements into scalable architectural designs.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience within healthcare payer or provider environments, including claims, membership, clinical, provider, or healthcare analytics data.
Experience with Databricks Delta Lake, Delta Live Tables/Lakeflow, or Snowflake data engineering capabilities.
Familiarity with cloud data services such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake Storage, AWS Glue, Amazon S3, or related technologies.
Experience with Kafka or similar event streaming and messaging technologies.
Understanding of healthcare interoperability and clinical data exchange standards, including HL7 and FHIR.
Experience with data platform modernization, legacy data migration, or enterprise analytics transformation.
Familiarity with data security, access controls, and regulatory requirements associated with healthcare information.
