• Contract Duration: 1 month (approximately 20 hours per week) (40 hours/week)
• Pay Rate: $70.00 $88.00 / Hour (USD)
• Shift / Schedule: Days (approximately 20 hours per week during initial assessment phase; ramp-up to approximately 40 hours per week following the initial assessment)

Job Summary

Our client is seeking an experienced Solution Architect Data Migration / LIMS to lead the technical design and execution of a laboratory data migration initiative. The initial engagement will focus on a 5-week data assessment and migration planning phase, with approximately 20 hours per week expected to start. Strong delivery during this phase is expected to lead to an expanded engagement, with the broader program anticipated to run for at least several months and potentially extend for 12 18 months. This role is ideal for a hands-on architect who can both define the migration strategy and work directly with technical teams to execute data profiling, mapping, transformation, validation and reconciliation activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end LIMS data migration initiatives, from assessment and planning through execution and validation.
• Design and execute ETL/ELT pipelines covering data extraction, transformation, mapping, loading and reconciliation.
• Define source-to-target mappings, migration architecture, technical specifications and migration standards.
• Perform data profiling, cleansing, transformation, validation and exception handling.
• Analyze source and target data structures to identify data gaps, quality issues and transformation requirements.
• Lead and support multiple migration cycles, including mock migrations, testing and production readiness.
• Troubleshoot migration issues across ETL, validation and reconciliation cycles and drive issues through resolution.
• Develop or support automation for data transformation, validation and reconciliation activities.
• Partner with business, laboratory and functional teams to translate migration requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance across LIMS, data engineering, integration and migration workstreams.
• Ensure migration outcomes meet agreed quality, completeness and traceability requirements.

Required Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with LIMS platforms, ideally:

- Thermo Fisher SampleManager - LabWare LIMS

• Proven experience delivering complex data migration and ETL/ELT initiatives.
• Strong experience with:

- Source-to-target mapping - Data transformation - Data validation - Data reconciliation - Data profiling and cleansing - Exception handling

• Experience executing multiple migration cycles, including mock migrations and production cutover preparation.
• Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases such as SQL Server and Oracle.
• Experience using Python or similar scripting languages for data transformation, migration automation or validation.
• Strong understanding of complex data structures and large-scale data migration environments.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication and stakeholder management capabilities.

Preferred Skills

• Strong functional understanding of R&D and Quality Control laboratory processes.
• Experience supporting LIMS migrations within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, life sciences or other regulated laboratory environments.
• Experience integrating applications and data through REST APIs, SOAP APIs and file-based interfaces.
• Experience defining migration architecture and technical standards across multiple systems or workstreams.
• Previous experience working directly with business and laboratory stakeholders to translate operational requirements into technical migration solutions.

Required Experience

• 8 10 years of experience in solution architecture, data migration, data engineering or related technical delivery roles.

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

• Work Model: Primarily remote with hybrid on-site requirement.
• On-Site Requirement: Approximately 2 days per week on alternate weeks; flexibility may be available for strong remote candidates.
• Client Location: New Haven, Connecticut.
