Description of Work This position will be responsible for ensuring technical drawings are completed accurately using the 3D computer-aided drafting program, SOLIDWORKS. The individual will complete and coordinate engineering drawings including layouts, parts details, construction or fabrication plans, and Bill of Materials (BOMs). This employee will review and ensure all drawings completed by student employees are accurate and meet quality requirements. They will also coordinate the modification of existing designs/drawings and other documentation based on feedback and collaboration with engineering team, faculty, and technical personnel. The individual will maintain a priority list and calendar to ensure all deadlines and key dates are met. This individual will be trained to assist with maintaining and completing backup of the server; troubleshooting computer and server problems; upgrade software programs; purchasing computer equipment, and answer computer related questions. In addition, the individual will be trained to perform crash test video processing and analysis. This individual will follow a developed training procedure when training all new staff/students in video analysis, departmental use of the primary design tool SOLIDWORKS and AutoCAD. The individual will assist the Quality Manager in the management of departmental accreditation. These duties will include, but not be limited to, maintaining files, reviewing work procedures, investigating errors, recommending corrective actions, and documenting processes. This individual must maintain a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations, and other duties as assigned.

Minimum Required Qualifications Associates degree in Computer-aided drafting or equivalent or equivalent education/experience. One year of experience with detailed drawings for use in fabrication/construction. Knowledge of computer operating systems and Microsoft software applications; including MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Outlook. Excellent communication and math skills.

Preferred Qualifications The ideal candidate may have a Bachelors degree in Computer-aided drafting or a closely related field. Experience assisting with workplace accreditation or assisting with computer/server systems maintenance. Experience in managing staff and/or projects.
