Location: San Diego, CA

Pay Rate: $19.00 - $26.00 per hour | Depending on Experience

Schedule: 1st Shift | 7 AM - 3:30 PM

Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Technical training in electronics, soldering, or manufacturing is a plus
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, assembly drawings, and work instructions
  • Basic computer skills for production documentation and recordkeeping

Experience Requirements

  • 2+ years of previous experience in soldering, electronic assembly, or electronics manufacturing
  • Experience performing SMT (Surface Mount Technology) and/or through-hole soldering
  • Ability to inspect, troubleshoot, and repair soldering defects
  • Experience using soldering irons, hot-air rework stations, and precision hand tools
  • Familiarity with electronic components, printed circuit boards (PCBs), and electrical terminology

Preferred Qualifications

  • IPC J-STD-001 certification or training
  • IPC-A-610 certification or experience working to IPC quality standards
  • Experience performing electronic rework and repair
  • Experience using microscopes and precision inspection equipment
  • Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and hand-eye coordination
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with production, quality, and engineering teams
  • Previous experience in a high-volume or regulated manufacturing environment

Physical Capabilities

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods during detailed assembly work
  • Ability to perform repetitive hand and wrist movements
  • Ability to work with small electronic components using precision tools
  • Ability to work under magnification or microscopes for extended periods
  • Ability to lift and move materials as required

Job Duties

  • Perform through-hole and surface-mount soldering of electronic components, wires, terminals, and circuit boards
  • Assemble electronic products according to schematics, drawings, and work instructions
  • Inspect solder joints and assemblies for quality, workmanship, and IPC compliance
  • Identify and correct defects including cold joints, solder bridges, and component placement issues
  • Perform rework, repairs, and modifications on electronic assemblies
  • Utilize soldering irons, microscopes, hot-air rework stations, tweezers, and other assembly tools
  • Follow ESD procedures and proper handling requirements for sensitive electronic components
  • Maintain accurate production, quality, and inspection records
  • Meet production schedules while maintaining high quality standards
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment while following all company policies and procedures
