$34 Hr Solder tech- J-Std. 001 certification Active/Expired within the last 2 yrs, soldering very small aerospace components using microscopes in a cleanroom
$32 Hr Assembly- Recent experience in the last 5 yrs-Assemble very small components under microscopes in a cleanroom

Solder tech Job Description
This role will do all of the work listed above for the Production Technician with J. Std. Certification but will also do hand soldering tasks.
Working to J-STD-001 and IPC 610 standards- The ideal candidate will have an active J-STD-001 certification.- If there is truly a hard time to find folks with certs, the customer is open to expired certs. They will need to be certified onsite. Could be fast tracked – one day or one hour.
All drawings will ask for IPC 610 & J-STD soldering quality.
OJT soldering training will be provided for specific applications.
Soldering components in a variety of connections including wire to wire, wire to terminal, and thru-hole soldering to mini-CPAs.
Boards are the size of a nickel, maybe a quarter.
All soldering is done under scope. Must be able to work under scope all day.
Must pass an onsite certification test if certifications are expired. This will be written tests and hand soldering tests where dexterity and soldering abilities are tested.- Keep in mind: the boards are the size of a NICKEL and components are being soldered onto that.
Dedicated to an operation in one of two lines: low or high volume.
The majority of products are assembled under a microscope at 10x-20x magnification.- NOTE: working under scope all day can be tiring and at times, difficult for a technicians’ vision. Techs MUST be prepared to work under scope for the entire shift, every day.
Technicians are assembling components together following sequential work instructions. The finished product is then added to inventory and kitted for the next operation.
The full production line consists of sub-assemblies, soldering, welding, final assembly, and testing operations. A technician will be dedicated to one of the operations on the line but will also train on other operations as production requires.- On the low volume lines, an individual could work across multiple operations depending upon the labor standard associated w/ that operation. They’ll go through training on each operation – one at a time.
