Solar BESS Project, Energy & Utility

Summary:

Senior BESS Project Engineer with strong electrical engineering and utility-scale energy project experience. Responsible for reviewing engineering and design packages, providing QA/QC oversight, and managing technical execution from project development through construction and commissioning. Strong knowledge of power systems, interconnection/POI, protection and controls, SCADA/EMS, and MV/HV electrical infrastructure. Experienced in coordinating with EPC contractors, OEMs, EORs, consultants, utilities, and internal stakeholders. BESS, solar, substation, transmission, and generation experience is highly relevant.

Key Responsibilities
Review and evaluate engineering and design packages for utility-scale projects.
Oversee and challenge the Engineer of Record (EOR) to ensure designs meet project requirements.
Provide QA/QC oversight for engineering deliverables and technical documentation.
Support projects through development, engineering, construction, commissioning, and closeout.
Review electrical systems related to BESS, solar, substations, transmission, and generation.
Evaluate power systems, POI/interconnection, protection & controls, SCADA/EMS, and MV/HV infrastructure.
Coordinate with EPCs, OEMs, consultants, utilities, EORs, and internal engineering/project teams.
Identify technical risks, design issues, gaps, and potential constructability concerns.
Participate in technical reviews, project meetings, design discussions, and issue resolution.
Ensure engineering work complies with applicable IEEE, NEC, NFPA 855, UL 9540A, and project standards where applicable.
