Provide a short description of the Position:
The NYWIC (New York Women, Infants, and Children) system is a statewide application that supports the administration of New York's WIC nutrition program, which provides nutritional assistance and health services to eligible women, infants, and children.
The Division of Nutrition relies on custom applications to support the delivery of these programs. The NYWIC MIS-EBT project provides a .NET/Oracle-based platform that enables efficient program operations and ongoing enhancements to meet evolving business needs.
Within this environment, the DataMart team is responsible for the design, development, and ongoing maintenance of the enterprise data warehouse and reporting layer supporting the NYWIC application. The team includes Business Analysts, Data Modelers, Informatica Developers, and OBIEE Developers who work collaboratively to deliver and sustain data solutions. The team continuously implements enhancements and updates to the DataMart as the core application evolves, ensuring accurate, reliable, and timely reporting for business users, program administrators, and regulatory stakeholders.
This resource will serve as backup support for both Data modeling and ETL.
Administrative tasks: Perform administrative duties including attendance at meetings and completion of NYS LATS timecard and monthly timesheets.
What are the daily work hours?
7:30AM-4:00PM OR 8:00AM-4:30PM, includes 30 mins unpaid lunch.
The basic workweek and workday is 40 hours per week; 8.5 hours per day; Monday to Friday. The consultant may occasionally be required to work beyond the hours of the established workday or workweek based on operational need; be on-call to support maintenance/deployment efforts

Software Architect
Makes high-level design choices and dictates technical standards, including software coding standards, tools, and platforms. Designs multi-leveled architecture or component interactions of a large scale software system.

Are there additional security requirements for the Authorized User?
Yes
The consultant will be required to undergo a background check. The paperwork must be submitted immediately upon job acceptance and a start date cannot be selected until all required submissions are accepted.
The consultant will need a NYS Driver's License or Non-Driver ID to gain access to the building. Special instructions will be provided to candidates who do not have such an ID
Will additional training potentially be required during the Engagement?
Yes
The NYS Office of Employee Relations (OER) sets mandatory training requirements that must be completed by all employees and consultants on an annual basis.
Program staff will provide a Data confidentiality presentation prior to the consultant gaining access to the system.
Program staff will provide Web-based user training so the consultant can familarize themself with the system.
There may be additional Department of Health (DOH) and/or Office of Information Technology Services (OITS) agency-specific mandated training.
What type and/or manner, of knowledge transfer is requested during the Engagement?
Consultant will provide written documentation (including step-by-step instructions) and work with state staff to transfer knowledge gained to state and contract staff prior to departure.
Consultant will prepare documentation and conduct formal/informal training sessions for effective transfer of knowledge in the areas needed for on-going support of the project.
Periodic mentoring/training sessions may also be required for effective knowledge transfers. Consultant may need to define/document guidelines/standards with the team, and share examples.
Consultant may share knowledge via peer review and critique.
