Pay Rate Range: $50 - $54.16/hr. on W2
Position Overview:
  • **** Cyber and Data Resilience is hiring two Software Test Engineers. You'll support software development and full life cycle testing of mission systems in an on-site SCIF environment in the Columbia and Annapolis Junction, Maryland area. An active Top Secret/SCI clearance with Full Scope Polygraph is required prior to start.
  • The role spans the design, development, and maintenance of test plans, cases, and processes; the creation and maintenance of test environments and automated test capabilities; the performance of Integration and Testing and Acceptance Testing; and the reporting and tracking of problems through their resolution.
  • You'll work individually or as part of a team, reviewing and testing software components for adherence to design requirements, documenting test results, and resolving software problem reports.
Key Responsibilities:
Test Planning and Process Development
  • Design, develop, and implement test plans, test cases, and test processes
  • Maintain test plans, cases, and processes across the full software life cycle
  • Review and test software components for adherence to design requirements and document test results
Test Automation
  • Design, develop, and maintain suites of automated tests
  • Develop test automation using Python
  • Apply code coverage tools to measure and improve test effectiveness
Test Environment Engineering
  • Build test environments
  • Create and maintain test environments for automated software testing
  • Install, configure, manage, and enhance software applications, Linux systems, and connected network components
Integration and Acceptance Testing
  • Perform Integration and Testing (I&T) activities and Acceptance Testing activities
  • Perform systems integration testing across mission system components
  • Conduct performance, load, and stress testing, data interface testing, user interface testing, and security testing
Problem Reporting and Resolution
  • Report and track problems through their resolution
  • Resolve software problem reports
  • Provide support for the dispatch system and hardware problems and remain involved in the resolution process
Systems Support
  • Configure and manage UNIX and Windows (or other applicable) operating systems
  • Install and load operating system software, troubleshoot, maintain integrity of, and configure network components
  • Implement operating system enhancements to improve reliability and performance
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. A Master's degree may be substituted for two (2) years of experience. Four (4) years of additional Test Engineer experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a degree.
  • Experience: Six (6) or more years of experience as a Software Test Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
Additional Required Qualifications
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with Full Scope Polygraph, must be active prior to start
  • Experience supporting full life cycle testing efforts of comparable size and scope
  • Experience with at least four (4) of the following knowledge areas: test automation development (or demonstrated development experience), performance/load/stress testing, data interface testing, user interface testing, security testing, code coverage tools, systems integration testing
  • Knowledge of test automation using Python
  • Experience with the installation, configuration, management, and enhancement of software applications, Linux systems, and connected network components
  • Ability to work individually or as part of a team
Desired Skills
  • Quality assurance tooling: Nosetest, rcptt
  • Eclipse, ESB, CORBA, or ICE
  • JIRA or Git for change control and requirements tracking
  • JBuilder or Eclipse development environments
  • Programming experience in C, C++, Java, or JavaScript
  • Scripting in Python or BASH
  • Agile software development experience
  • Information Assurance experience (4 years)
