Job Description

The Software Test Engineer Lead will spearhead the strategy, architecture, and long-term development of validation and testing processes. As a principal contributor, this role will influence the verification of systems across their full lifecycle, from foundational platforms to middleware and application layers. The position demands an architectural vision for modern test automation, system-level validation, and reliability engineering, ensuring that testing strategies scale effectively across multiple product lines and hardware generations. The role also emphasizes faster feedback, stronger observability integration, and improved engineering rigor.

Responsibilities

• Lead the strategy and architecture for validation and testing processes.
• Shape system verification across the full lifecycle from platform foundations to application layers.
• Provide architectural vision for test automation and system-level validation.
• Ensure testing strategies scale across multiple product lines and hardware generations.
• Enhance feedback mechanisms, observability integration, and engineering rigor.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in automated test frameworks.
• Expertise in Python and embedded Linux.
• Experience in test automation, reliability engineering, and performance testing.
• 20+ years of experience in software engineering with a focus on test architecture and automation.
• Strong understanding of system-level testing across OS, middleware, services, and applications.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Master"s degree in Engineering or a related field.
• Proven track record in developing and evolving test automation architectures.
• Technical depth in reliability engineering and performance testing for long-running systems.
• Experience with hardware-software integration testing.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Brea, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $180000.00 - $260000.00/yr.
