PGS Worldwide is seeking a Software Quality Engineer – Test Equipment in Grand Prairie, Texas for a one-year onsite contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This position will support software quality engineering for test equipment and hardware-in-the-loop systems, with a strong focus on test hardware, verification and validation, software implementation, and quality-process compliance.
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related STEM discipline.
- Experience with software quality engineering in a test-equipment or hardware/software integration environment.
- Experience with requirements analysis, design reviews, product integration, verification, validation, and certification of hardware/software test systems.
- Experience with test equipment and test-set hardware, including reading drawings and schematics.
- Experience performing hardware inspections, including cable inspections and calibration/metrology reviews.
- Ability to read, interpret, and troubleshoot LabVIEW, TestStand, and C/C++ test code.
- Experience reviewing test documentation and supporting non-conformance resolution.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret clearance.
- Ability to travel to company sites, supplier locations, and test facilities as needed.
Preferred Skills
- Certified Software Quality Engineer (ASQ CSQE).
- Strong hands-on experience with National Instruments LabVIEW and TestStand.
- Knowledge of CMMI, ISO, AS9100, FAA, or similar quality and regulatory standards.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
- Experience supporting software suppliers, test-equipment suppliers, and Government/DoD customers.
What You’ll Do
- Support test equipment throughout its lifecycle from requirements development through certification.
- Review and inspect test-set hardware, drawings, schematics, cabling, calibration records, and metrology documentation.
- Perform data-integrity, safety, and test-station documentation reviews.
- Review test procedures and other technical documentation for quality and compliance.
- Witness verification and validation of test equipment and hardware-in-the-loop systems.
- Evaluate LabVIEW, TestStand, and C/C++ implementations against system requirements.
- Support non-conformance investigation and closure activities.
- Develop and execute audit strategies to ensure compliance with software, systems, and quality processes.
