Job Description:
We are seeking a highly experienced Software Quality Assurance (SQA) Contractor Engineer to support the MV 75 program. In this role, you will provide comprehensive software and hardware quality oversight across all phases of the development lifecycle, ensuring strict compliance with applicable planning documents, standards, and aviation/military regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate possesses deep expertise in DO 178C, embedded aviation systems, and formal process auditing.
Responsibilities:- Perform software and hardware process audits of engineering work products across the full development lifecycle.
- Review, monitor, and approve engineering work products, including release packages and associated artifacts.
- Participate in all software and hardware technical reviews; prepare and deliver SQA presentations and formal status reports.
- Conduct process audits and provide quality oversight for supplier artifacts, activities, and compliance.
- Witness and monitor testing procedures and results to ensure the delivered product meets established quality, reliability, and program requirements.
- Collaborate closely with systems engineering, software development, test teams, and project management.
- Mentor engineering personnel regarding quality processes, compliance requirements, and industry standards.
- Ensure consistent adherence to Bell and Textron development processes, guidelines, and quality requirements.
- Rapidly gain proficiency in the MV 75 software quality audit process and associated workflows.
- Work independently with minimal supervision while contributing effectively within a cross-functional team environment.
Qualifications:- B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related technical discipline.
- 7+ years of experience in software, systems, or quality engineering.
- Extensive, hands-on experience with DO 178C and its supplements (required).
- Additional experience with DO 254 is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of RTCA DO 330 Software Tool Qualification Considerations and related SQA responsibilities.
- Demonstrated background in process and product auditing.
- Practical experience supporting embedded aviation software development across all lifecycle phases.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; capable of presenting SQA findings during internal and formal reviews.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal training or direction.
