Software Quality Assurance Specialist

The DC Department of Human Services (DHS), Office of Information Systems (OIS) is seeking a Senior Software QA / Functional Tester to design and implement test plans and automated functional test scripts that ensure quality-control standards. You will build and maintain functional and regression tests, execute functional, integration, and end-to-end testing across web, mobile, and portal platforms, support multiple major releases with development teams and vendors, and provide production support and clear quality reporting. This is a 100% onsite role in Washington, DC.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement test plans, test cases, and automated functional test scripts to meet quality-control standards
• Develop and maintain functional and regression tests; apply test methodology and product knowledge to test design and strategy
• Execute all types of testing (functional, integration, end-to-end) across platforms (mobile, web, portal frameworks) and browsers
• Support testing of multiple major releases with the development team and vendors; monitor testing activities and deliverables
• Provide production support by investigating and recreating reported defects; help prioritize defect fixes to business needs
• Create testing summary reports and communicate results clearly to management
• Conduct test-case reviews, ensure requirements traceability and proper coverage, and provide defect status and quality metrics
• Develop software quality-assurance plans and procedures; conduct audits and reviews of data and documentation
