About the Role:
VITS Consulting is looking for an experienced Software Project Manager to support software initiatives with a strong focus on project governance, documentation, compliance, and audit readiness.
This role will coordinate cross-functional activities across Software Development, Information Security, Quality, IT, Product Management, and other technical stakeholders. The ideal candidate is a highly organized, hands-on project manager who can drive execution, maintain clear documentation, manage risks and dependencies, and support activities related to SOC 2, HIPAA, security, and regulatory compliance. Experience working within a regulated software, healthcare technology, or medical-device environment* is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and manage project plans, schedules, milestones, dependencies, risks, deliverables, and commitments.
Coordinate cross-functional software and technology initiatives from planning through execution and closure.
Drive project meetings, working sessions, compliance reviews, risk discussions, and status reviews.
Track action items, decisions, issues, risks, dependencies, owners, and due dates through completion.
Support SOC 2, HIPAA, security, privacy, and audit-readiness initiatives, including evidence collection and remediation tracking.
Coordinate with Software Development, Information Security, Quality, IT, Product Management, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and accountability.
Maintain organized and audit-ready project documentation, approvals, procedures, evidence, and supporting records.
Identify project risks, issues, and dependencies early and coordinate mitigation or remediation plans.
Monitor project and compliance metrics, including milestones, outstanding actions, documentation status, audit readiness, and remediation progress.
Prepare concise project status reports and communicate progress, risks, decisions, and escalations to stakeholders and leadership.
Identify opportunities to improve project tracking, documentation practices, compliance workflows, dashboards, templates, and reporting processes.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
7+ years of project management experience supporting cross-functional software, technology, security, quality, or compliance initiatives.
Demonstrated experience managing project schedules, action trackers, risk and issue logs, status reporting, and project documentation.
Experience coordinating complex deliverables across multiple stakeholders and functional teams.
Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail and follow-through.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strong written, verbal, facilitation, and presentation skills.
Ability to communicate project status, risks, issues, and dependencies clearly to both technical and business stakeholders.
Proficiency with standard project management, collaboration, and documentation tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in a regulated environment, particularly healthcare technology, medical devices, or Software as a Medical Device (SaMD).
Experience supporting SOC 2 audit readiness, evidence collection, control testing, or remediation activities.
Knowledge of HIPAA, privacy, information security, and/or security compliance initiatives.
Experience managing software projects in healthcare, medical-device, life-sciences, or another highly regulated industry.
Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC), information security, privacy, quality systems, and compliance processes.
Experience with Jira, Confluence, Smartsheet, SharePoint, or similar project management and documentation platforms.
PMP, Agile/Scrum, or comparable project management certification is a plus.
Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate combines strong traditional project-management fundamentals with experience operating in a compliance driven software environment. This person should be comfortable working across technical, security, quality, and business teams while maintaining the documentation and execution discipline required for audit and regulatory readiness.The ideal candidate has 7+ years of Project Management experience, strong stakeholder management skills, and a proven ability to manage timelines, risks, priorities, and accountability across software/technology teams. Experience with SOC 2, healthcare, medical devices, security, or regulated environments is a plus, but strong PM fundamentals, leadership, and communication skills are the priority.
