Description

Location: Remote - PST preferred

Salary Range: $60 - $70/hr.

Introduction

We are seeking a talented software engineer to join our dynamic team. This role involves building and evaluating Computer Use Agents (CUAs) — models trained to operate real software and complete computer-based tasks like a skilled engineer. You will be responsible for owning complex, long-running technical workflows from start to finish, including implementation, validation, documentation, and follow-through. You’ll design and maintain tasks, benchmarks, and test suites that measure CUA capability as the underlying models, APIs, and infrastructure evolve.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Passionate about coding with a drive to dive deep into technology.
  • Extremely high standards for code quality and love writing tests.
  • Familiar with deployment strategies like canary releases and rollbacks.
  • Proficient in one or more of the following languages: Rust, Python, or TypeScript.
  • Strong debugging and experimental discipline.
  • Prior work experience at client or in client's Industry.
  • Applicants must be able to work directly for Artech on W2.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in server-side or infrastructure development, with a track record of building highly available and stable systems.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into understandable language.
  • Experience with ML evaluation, distributed systems, developer infrastructure, or large-scale testing.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Own complex, long-running technical workflows end to end.
  • Design and maintain tasks, benchmarks, and test suites for CUA capability.
  • Investigate discrepancies across code, configuration, infrastructure, and results, and turn findings into reproducible conclusions.
