THE ROLE
As a Software Engineering Manager on the Hyperscale Systems team at Everpure, you will lead a high-performing engineering team responsible for low-level systems software, device drivers, and core OS integration for our next-generation flash storage systems. These new platforms allow our largest customers to meet the demands of AI and hyperscale workloads.
In this role, you will lead, mentor, and manage a high-performing software development team focused on key Linux kernel development, new hardware platform enablement working closely with Product, Hardware, and Firmware teams, you will translate platform requirements into high-quality, production-ready software.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Team Leadership & Growth: Build, coach, and retain a high-performing software team, handling hiring, onboarding, performance management, and career development.
- Technical Direction & Architecture: Drive execution across low-level systems architecture, kernel driver development, DMA/PCIe engines, memory management, and I/O path orchestration.
- Systems Software Integration: Guide the development of low-overhead systems software (in C/C++) with an emphasis on low-latency execution, determinism, and flash storage hardware optimization.
- Cross-Functional Partnership: Partner with Product Management, Hardware, and Firmware teams to translate PRDs into concrete platform capabilities, including hardware enablement, low-level bring-up, crash safety, and bare-metal performance.
- Engineering Excellence: Foster rigorous practices around design reviews, code metrics, kernel/system performance profiling, automated hardware-in-the-loop testing, and zero-regression deployments.
- Culture of Ownership: Create an environment of accountability, urgency, and psychological safety where engineers can solve complex hyperscale challenges and grow in scope.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Management Experience: 1+ years of direct software engineering management experience leading low-level systems, kernel, or embedded infrastructure teams.
- Core Technical Background: 5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience with deep expertise in C/C++, or low-level systems languages.
- System & Storage Depth: Strong expertise in Linux kernel internals, device drivers, block layer design, memory layout/NUMA, and high-performance I/O pathways.
- Operational Resilience: Experience delivering hardware-adjacent systems software that demands ultra-high reliability, crash resilience, fault isolation, and safe recovery under physical drive or link failures.
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
