Job Summary:
We are seeking a
Software Engineer – Vision Automation, Test & Calibration to support the development and manufacturing of vision systems for surgical robotic platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong software development experience in
C#, Python, or C/C++, along with experience developing production-quality test and calibration software. This role will work closely with software, systems, electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, and quality engineering teams to design, develop, deploy, and sustain software used to test and calibrate robotic vision systems in a regulated manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Design, develop, test, release, deploy, and document software applications for vision system testing and calibration used in robotic surgical systems.
- Develop and integrate illumination measurement systems and related algorithms supporting vision system test and calibration.
- Collaborate with system and embedded software teams to develop and maintain APIs supporting manufacturing test and calibration processes.
- Build and maintain scalable software infrastructure and tools that enable rapid development of manufacturing test and calibration fixtures.
- Develop, document, and qualify production software while ensuring reliability, integrity, and compliance with manufacturing requirements.
- Take ownership of software projects from requirements through deployment, troubleshoot production issues, and work independently to resolve technical roadblocks.
Must-Have Skills:- Strong hands-on programming experience with C#, Python, or C/C++.
- Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Analysis, Object-Oriented Design, OOP, and software design patterns.
- Experience developing, testing, deploying, and supporting production-quality software applications.
- Ability to manage software projects from inception through development, testing, release, and production support.
Nice-to-Have Skills:- Experience with MATLAB and/or algorithms used for measurement, testing, calibration, or automation.
- Knowledge of photometric and radiometric measurement fundamentals.
- Experience developing scalable manufacturing, automation, or production test systems.
- Experience working with APIs and software infrastructure supporting test equipment or engineering systems.
Preferred Qualifications:- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- 3+ years of professional software development experience; advanced degree may offset some experience requirements.
- Experience in medical device manufacturing or another highly regulated engineering environment, including familiarity with regulated quality systems.
- Strong communication, analytical, problem-solving, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
